Common Drug Rehab Complaints
There is not a single drug rehab in the country that has not had its share of unsatisfied clients or patients. There are many reasons for this, but the biggest one is usually because the addict is really not trying to get clean or is not following the rules of the treatment center and therefore tries to find faults that either aren't there or magnify problems that do exist. This then gets told to family members and other loved ones in an attempt for the addict to get someone else's agreement that he or she shouldn't be there and is then used as a mechanism to go get drunk or high again. It is an effort to not fully handle the problem and divert the attention elsewhere. In most cases, family members should work with drug rehab facility personnel to get the situations resolved and trust them since that is the rehab center that was chosen for a reason.
Of course there are times and places where there are legitimate complaints about a drug rehab program as well. These could include any of the following and more:
- Not enough treatment staff or one on one care.
- Too many clients in group therapy.
- Too religious or not religious enough.
- The rehab program is too short or too long.
- Is either completely drug-free or prescribes too many medications.
- Not enough security or too strict.
- Hidden fees or charges.
- No aftercare program or follow-up.
- Unclean or messy facility.
- Too much interaction allowed with the opposite sex or not enough.
- Poor communication with family (often due to confidentiality laws).
- And many, many others.
